- Designed for High Power Applications
- 1550 nm Center Wavelength
- Highly Reliable InP Ridge Waveguide
- Butterfly-Packaged Configuration
This Fabry-Perot, high-powered laser, the FPL1009S has a typical center wavelength of 1550 nm, which is in the eye-safe
wavelength range where the cornea and lens absorb the light.
Thorlabs’ FPL1009S is a high-power, butterfly-packaged laser that is coupled to a 1.5 m FC/APC nonpolarization-maintaining
single-mode fiber.
An integrated thermistor allows the FPL1009S to be temperature controlled, thus stabilizing the lasing wavelength and power.
The FPL1009S is manufactured by Thorlabs Quantum Electronics (TQE); this Fabry-Perot laser is based on quantum well
epitaxial layer growth and a highly reliable ridge waveguide.
They intrinsically offer high slope efficiency, which is the relationship between output power and drive current.
The FPL1009S is ideal for use as source lasers for free-space optical communication or in a laser transmitter
for remote sensing applications.
