The HFC007 industry-standard fiber chuck is designed to accept fibers with diameters up to 200 µm once the coating (buffer) has been stripped. The fiber is loaded from the side, which makes it possible to strip and cleave the fiber prior to loading. A spring clip secures the fiber in place. However, please note that this spring mechanism does not provide a sufficient clamping force to keep the fiber from rotating when placed inside a rotator. The chuck measures 60 mm (2.36") in length and has a diameter of 6.35 mm (0.25").
