Features Low Divergence Low Pointing Error: 3 mrad (Max) Each Collimator Provided with a Test Data Sheet Non-Magnetic Stainless Steel Housing Thorlabs' High Quality Triplet Fiber Collimation package uses air-spaced triplet lenses that offer superior beam quality performance when compared to aspheric lens collimators. The benefits of the low-aberration triplet design include an M2 term closer to 1 (Gaussian), less divergence, and less wavefront error. Detailed results of performance testing versus our fixed aspheric collimators are presented on the Performance tab of the family page for this product. In order to take full advantage of the superior beam quality, our triplet collimators should be used with single mode fiber patch cables. Each lens in the collimator has a broadband antireflection coating in order to minimize losses due to surface reflections. This collimation package uses high-precision receptacles that provide excellent pointing repeatability. This allows the user to remove and replace the fiber without needing to realign the system. The collimator housing has an outer diameter of 12 mm, which makes it compatible with both the AD12NT and AD12F mounting adapters.
